For the 12th year in a row, some of Long Island's top musicians, bands and songwriters will play some of his most beloved songs on the stage he was scheduled to play the night he died in 1981.
Favorites like Taxi, Cat's in the Cradle and Flowers Are Red will be on the setlist, as well as fan favorites like Sunday Morning Sunshine and Corey's Coming. And it's the 50th anniversary of the truck crash that inspired 30,000 Lbs of Bananas.
Performers include Gathering Time, Josh Joffen. Katie Pearlman, Frank Walker, Rorie Kelly, Patricia Shih, Friends on the Journey, Mediacrime, Jackknife Stiletto, Ed Ryan, Jerry DeMeo, Christine Solimeno, Sid Cherry, Robin Eve, Grand Folk Railroad, Debra Lynne and The Folk Goddesses.
It will take place on the Harry Chapin Lakeside Stage -- bring a blanket or lawn chair. Arrive early for best spots. And please bring a non-perishable food donation for Long Island Cares.
